Photographer, NOT Terrorist…

Okay, so this past Monday, the 21st, was my birthday. I had taken a few days off of work, including yesterday, to get some rest. After months of inactivity, I was finally able to get some camera time. My first stop was Mynelle Gardens in Jackson, and I later went to downtown Jackson.

copyright 2009 Stacy Baugher While at Mynelle, I got some great shots. There are some beautiful plants out there, and some of the statuary is just spectacular. I’ll be trying to get some portrait sessions to go out there later on.

After I left the Gardens, I drove to downtown Jackson. And then, for not the first time, I was followed around by a guy who was in a security guard like uniform, but it was not one I could name. He made a deal of copyright 2009 Stacy Baugherfollowing me around, even after I spoke to him and explained what I was doing.  I understand that the McCoy Federal Building is in the area I was photographing in, but I was kind of surprised. The guards at the Federal Building (which was not in any shot I took) had no problem with me, and I passed by several JPD and Capitol Police and did not seem to cause any concern. Even a guard outside the Elite Restaurant had no issue with me. This guy followed me for a good twenty minutes all over Capitol Street and even down Lamar. I did not want to take a picture of him, as I did not want to give him a reason to actually do anything, but I could not figure out who he worked for. I still think I got some good pictures though.

Maybe I need to buy one of these shirts.

I actually did join this Facebook group – I’m A Photographer, Not A Terrorist.

I will actually have a few of the new shots up on the main website a little later this week. I’m thinking about changing my gallery and store hosting in a month or so, so I am not sure how much longer it will be up in it’s current form.

I can smell the pork roast cooking in the slow cooker. Gonna be pulling it our and shredding it for BBQ pork sandwiches in an hour or so. Hate to be doing it so late, but not a lot of choice!

Later!
